Benefits Open Enrollment: May 20 – June 14, 2024
This is your once-a-year opportunity to make changes to your Spitzer benefits. Your benefit choices will go into effect on July 1, 2024.

Am I eligible for benefits?
You are eligible for benefits if you are a full-time employee working at least 30 hours per week.
If you enroll for benefits you may also cover your:
- Legal spouse.
- Children up to age 26.
- Unmarried children of any age who are mentally or physically disabled.
If you or your dependents have Medicare or will become eligible for Medicare in the next 12 months, a federal law gives you more choices about your Prescriptions coverage.
When can I enroll for, or make changes to, my benefits?
Existing employees can enroll for or make changes to their benefits during open enrollment, usually during May each year.
New employees can first enroll for benefits during their waiting period.
Your offer letter states the amount of days in your waiting period, and you should enroll for benefits before the last day of your waiting period. Once enrolled, your benefits will become effective the first of the month following or coinciding with your waiting period.
If you do not enroll during your waiting period, you will have to wait until open enrollment (usually during May each year) to enroll.
Any employee may make changes to their benefits at another time if they experience a qualifying life event, such as:
- Marriage or divorce.
- Birth or adoption of a child.
- Change in a dependent’s eligibility status.
- Change in employment status for you or your dependents resulting in the loss/gain of coverage.
- A significant change in the cost or coverage of your dependent’s benefits.
- Change in the cost of dependent care.
- Death of a dependent.
You have 31 days from the date of the qualifying life event to make any changes. The changes you make must be directly related to the event.
